Back in New Delhi, the team split up to take advantage of 2 different ministry opportunities that were made available to us. Pastor Bill and Lawrence headed off with Pastor Rohit for a pastors’ conference, while Pastor Mary Pat and Carly gladly accepted an invitation to come back to Rahab Centre for Hope to meet and minister to the women there.
When we arrived, we immediately met 4 girls who showed us a project they were working on to make and package sanitary napkins that can be distributed and sold. They were extremely proud of their work, and it was a joy to share in their excitement for the project. All of the girls attend school as well, so they took a break to sit down with us before they had to be on their way. Pastor Mary Pat began to lovingly tell them about God’s compassion for them, and how Jesus took all of their pain, hurt, and every wicked thing that had ever been done to them upon Himself when He went to the cross. She depicted the hope, healing, freedom, and empowerment that Jesus can bring to their lives, and they all readily wanted to receive Him into their hearts. We prayed with them, spoke life into them, and blessed them with beautiful earrings to remind them of how valued and precious they are. Then they went off to school and we got to meet with the rest of the girls from the home.
We had more time with them, and got to share in greater depth about God’s heart for them and about the complete transformation they can have in Jesus. They listened intently as PMP poured into them about their value, identity, and destiny from their perfect Father’s perspective. When offered, they all also gave their lives to Jesus! We gave earrings to them as well, and shared lots of hugs and smiles. Then they gave us a tour of the home, which was immaculately clean and organized. They also showed us another project they are working on, sowing zippered purses and make-up bags. Their craftsmanship was remarkable, and it was wonderful to see that they are learning valuable life skills.
PMP and Carly returned to the hotel just in time to receive our guests who came in for the weekend: Ina and Basha John! Ina’s husband Jacob was falsely accused and imprisoned for his faith 3 years ago. At the time, Ina was pregnant with Basha, their only child. It was a privilege to hear her share about the joy that the Lord has given her in the midst of such a difficult time. Her heart for Jesus and steadfast faith in Him is astounding, and the opportunity to offer her fellowship and support was irreplaceable.
