Women’s Conference

Our Rajahmundry church contacts surprised us this year with a new item on the ministry itinerary – a women’s conference.  Men were also invited to the women’s conference and a number of male pastors and laymen alike came to hear the message.  As the joyful Indian worship music wound down, Pastor Mary Pat got up to preach, sharing the Kingdom perspective on how women are equally valued and used by the Lord for His work, and that husbands and wives should work together as a team under the authority of Jesus to accomplish much for the Kingdom.  As the Word states in Galatians

3:28, “there is neither Jew nor Gentile, slave nor free, male nor female, for we are all one in Christ.”

Pastor Bill and Pastor Mary Pat both preached together, lovingly challenging the more traditional cultural mindsets that could, at times, limit or hinder women from pursuing their destinies in the Lord.  Pastor Bill exhorted the group that some of these limitations on women must come down for the whole Body of Christ to move forward in this era in advancing the Kingdom of God.  Many hearts were stirred and encouraged, and almost everyone came forward to receive prayer from the pastors and the team.  There were even six Hindu woman who were so moved that they prayed to receive Jesus into their hearts at the conference, removing their Hindu bindi dots immediately as a sign of turning away from worshipping false gods.  Praise the Lord!
